I am very excited to have family links to the famous ship, Titanic! I share a common ancestor - Captain William Pirrie (1780-1858) - with Lord Pirrie and his nephew, Thomas Andrews. Lord Pirrie was Chairman of the Belfast shipyard Harland & Wolff when Titanic was built and Thomas Andrews was the ship's Chief Designer.

I am finishing a book on my 3 x great-grandfather, Captain Pirrie, grandfather of Lord Pirrie and great-grandfather of Thomas Andrews! Captain Pirrie had many exciting adventures as a sailor, especially in America and the Mediterranean, and was also very important in the development of Belfast as a major world port.

The book on Captain Pirrie is due to be launched shortly. Keep an eye on this website for full details.

I have also been involved in making a TV programme about Captain Pirrie called 'Titanic - Missing Link'. You can see part of this below.
